Fourth Loop

Mortimer Palmer has the future of New Eden, the first colony on

Ganymede, resting on his shoulders. His father, Felix, expects nothing less

than his perfection and Mortimer is determined to honor that responsibility.

These expectations begin to crumble in the face of Corvel, newly arrived on

the transport from Earth with their mother, Doctor Katya Devereaux.

Corvel, who tells him they "traveled millions of miles to find him." Corvel

makes him uneasy, but is it because of Felix's warnings against the Doctor

or because Mortimer is haunted by their pale blue eyes? And why is he

dreaming of them, lit by firelight, under unfamiliar stars? Mortimer needs to

choose between his duty to his colony and what every part of his soul calls

for.

What Mortimer doesn't know is the larger destiny that is encircling both

him and Corvel and how much they will need one another to escape it. But

like before, Felix and Katya are already fighting to keep them apart. This

isn't the first time and it may not be the last.
